02 Jul FEATURING: MAGALIESBURG CANOPY TOURS®
About 39km from Koester Glamping Farm is a place that will make you sweat… Make your heart beat faster… Get your adrenaline pumping… Possibly terrify you… But will be a whole lot of fun! Magaliesberg Canopy Tours® offers a unique eco-adventure through the ecology and geology of the second oldest mountain range in the world (2,400 million years old to be exact). They have built 11 platforms against the rock faces of the spectacular Ysterhout Kloof, joined by 10 slides up to 140m long. In some spots, the slides are about 30m above the canopy floor!
Did you know? Canopy tours originated in Costa Rica when biologists constructed a system of cables and platforms to study the diversity of wildlife in the upper canopy level. The first canopy tour in South Africa was built in the Tsitsikamma Forest at Storms River over 10 years ago. Whether you are a thrill seeker, a family looking for fun, students or a corporate, the Magaliesberg Canopy Tour® is a great place to let loose. Scared? No need! There are two trained guides who accompany each tour to keep you safe and as a bonus, they will be able to give you interesting facts about the history of the Magaliesberg and its protected Fauna and Flora.
It costs R595 per person and the following is included:
• Safety briefing
• 4×4 return trip
• All equipment
• Fully guided 2½ hour tour (10 slides, 11 platforms)
• Light meal & refreshments
They are open seven days a week and public holidays (except for Christmas) and tours depart every 30 minutes. You need to be a minimum of two people to book but groups can go up to a maximum of eight. If you are a corporate, they can accommodate up to 160 people per day for team building. They also have a convenient online booking option available or you can contact them on 014 535 0150 or info@magaliescanopytour.co.za.
So, the next time you come visit us at Koester Glamping Farm, go swing from the tree tops at Magaliesberg Canopy Tours® and experience the magnificence of the ancient wonderland in an eco-friendly way. After all, what is life but one grand adventure?
